This training has been developed for anybody who operates a sailboat, motorboat or human-powered watercraft in whale habitat. The training explains how to conduct yourself should you encounter a whale while on the water and what regulations to comply with in the presence of these animals.

No, it is not necessary to create an account. If you close your browser between two modules, IP address tracking will allow you to continue the training without having to start over. If you are surfing the Internet in private mode, this will not be possible.

The training is not mandatory, but is highly recommended, especially if you navigate in areas where you might encounter a whale. Regulations governing whale watching and approach distances vary depending on where you are. Fines can be issued for failure to comply with these regulations. It is extremely important to be familiar with and comply with these rules to safely practise your activity in the presence of whales.

No, the training is completely free of charge and open to everyone!

To complete the training, we recommend allowing approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

The training can be completed as many times as necessary. There is no limit to the number of times you can try.  Keep reviewing the modules and you’ll eventually succeed!
